Carson, CA (Sports Network) - CD Chivas USA veteran Ante Razov was named Major League Soccer's Player of the Week on Tuesday for his two-goal effort in a 2-1 win over Kansas City last week.
Razov's two goals helped Chivas clinch a playoff berth and move into first in the Western Conference. He scored his first goal in the 69th minute and added the game winner in extra time.
Razov, who has been in the league since it started in 1996, has 11 goals and eight assists this season.
He moved into second all-time with 109 career goals, passing current Real Salt Lake coach Jason Kreis. Razov is now just two goals behind D.C. United's Jaime Moreno for the all-time lead. Moreno just overtook Kreis for the top spot this season.
He was honored as player of the week for the second time this season and for the ninth time in his career.
Chivas USA (14-6-5) will try to remain unbeaten at home and extend its eight- game unbeaten streak on Saturday against Chicago.
