New York, NY (Sports Network) - Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook's three touchdown performance against the Detroit Lions last Sunday helped earn him NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors for week three.
In addition to Westbrook, cornerback Anthony Henry of the Dallas Cowboys and linebacker Lance Laury of the Seattle Seahawks were honored with defensive and special teams honors, respectively.
Westbrook, who earned his first-career Offensive Player of the Week award, set a career-best with 221 total yards on offense, rushing for 110 and two scores while adding five receptions for 111 yards and a score. He also became the seventh player since the 1970 merger to record 110-plus rushing yards and 110- plus receiving yards in the same game.
Henry notched four tackles, two interceptions and four passes defensed in Dallas' victory over the Chicago Bears Sunday night. One of his interceptions was returned 28 yards for a touchdown. Henry currently leads the league with four interceptions.
This was Henry's third Player of the Week award.
Laury had two tackles on special teams and forced a fumble on a kickoff return in Seattle's win over Cincinnati. Laury's forced fumble sealed the victory with just 54 seconds remaining.
In his second season, this was Laury's first-career Player of the Week award.
