Texans' Johnson likely out with knee sprain

Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson will likely miss the team's game against Indianapolis with a sprained right knee.

"I'm just taking it day-by-day, week-by-week," Johnson said Wednesday. "I'm doing everything possible that I can do to get myself ready to be back on the field."

Johnson left the team's game against the Carolina Panthers early in the fourth quarter last week. The star receiver hauled in a 10-yard pass from Matt Schaub and was immediately drilled by Carolina defensive back Chris Harris.

After laying prone on the field for several minutes, Johnson was able to walk off under his own power. He missed the remainder of the Texans' 34-21 win and finished with seven catches for 120 yards in the game.

"There's not much you can say to a guy when Andre's been healthy throughout his career," Texans coach Gary Kubiak said, "To not have an opportunity to play in this game you know has got to be very difficult for him. But the good news is he's going to be fine and hopefully sooner than later."
