Ashburn, VA (Sports Network) - The Washington Redskins signed veteran offensive guard Rick DeMulling on Thursday.
DeMulling played in 14 games with seven starts last season in Detroit and has played in a total of 75 games with 53 starts in his NFL career.
DeMulling was signed to provide support to a Redskins' offensive line that is without starters Jon Jansen and Randy Thomas due to injuries.
Originally selected by Indianapolis in the seventh round of the 2001 NFL Draft, DeMulling spent his first four NFL seasons with the Colts, playing in 48 games with 41 starts. He signed with the Lions prior to the 2005 season.
To make room for DeMulling on the roster, the Redskins released wide receiver Shaun Bodiford.
