Santa Clara, CA (Sports Network) - San Francisco 49ers linebacker Manny Lawson will miss the rest of the season after tearing a ligament in his left knee.
Lawson suffered the injury during Wednesday's practice while covering tight end Bill Bajema on a pass along the sidelines. The North Carolina State product did some light running with the trainer and rode an exercise bike for the rest of the team's workout, but an MRI later revealed a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
Lawson, the 22nd overall pick in the 2006 draft, is second on the team with 14 tackles. He started 11 games last season, recording 65 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks.
