Lake Forest, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago Bears signed cornerback Ade Jimoh to their 53-man roster on Wednesday. The team also signed safety Josh Gattis to the practice squad and terminated the contracts of veteran punter Dirk Johnson and wide receiver David Ball.
Jimoh, an undrafted free agent out of Utah State, spent the last four seasons in Washington, where he recorded 65 special teams tackles and 28 defensive stops in 63 regular season games.
Johnson, filling in for the injured Brad Maynard, punted four times for a 49.8-yard average in Chicago's 20-10 win in Week 2 against Kansas City.
Gattis was a fifth-round selection of Jacksonville in the 2007 NFL draft, while Ball signed with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of the University of New Hampshire and had six receptions for 64 yards in the preseason.
