Stars extend Jokinen for two more years

The Dallas Stars re-signed forward Jussi Jokinen to a two-year deal worth $3.625 million on Thursday.

"Jussi has provided our team two consecutive productive seasons and we look for him to continue to grow his game with our club over the next two years," said Stars general manager Doug Armstrong. "We believe in his abilities to improve our hockey club and are happy to have him under contract for the next two seasons."

Jokinen appeared in all 82 games for Dallas last season, scoring 14 goals and adding 34 assists. In a two-year career with the Stars, the 24-year-old Finn has recorded 31 goals and 103 points. In addition to his NHL tenure, Jokinen won a gold medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics with Team Finland.
